I kept my daughter home from school ast week due to headache and low grade temp. I thought she was getting better but now, she has a hoarse cough. I am going to call doc but do I send her to school tomorrow?

Tough call. My in-laws were in the same situation, waiting for the cough to clear up before sending their 6th grader back to school. That's what we are told to do, right. Not send the kids to school if they have fevers, cough, or vomiting...anyway, it just happened to be at the time of parent-teacher conferences. And when they went in the teacher told them to send their son back to school or he risks falling too far behind. Turned out a couple of days later he had to be taken to the hospital with pneumonia.

I would say ask the Dr. what he/she thinks. Where my in-laws live the flu/and cold swept through the schools so fast that they were emptied by almost 300+ students in a week (all home sick) and they live in a small town so the schools were nearly empty.

I would wait until after talking to doc before sending her back, it can't hurt, and it could be beneficial to her and her schoolmates. Hang in there!
