I AM A NEW MOM AND I AM CONCERNED THAT I AM KEEPING MY DAUGHTER TO CLOSE TO HOME/ME. EVERY SINCE MY BABY WAS BORN I HAVEN'T LET ANYONE HOLD HER. IS THIS NORMAL? I LOVE MY BABY AND I HAVE THIS ISSUE WITH TRUSTING ANYBODY TO HOLD HER, TOUCH HER, AND MOSTLY WATCHING HER. I KNOW THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING PROTECTIVE, BUT MY HUSBAND SAY I NEED TO LET UP A LITTLE. I DO THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE FAR AS SCHOOL, AND JUST GROWING UP IN GENERAL. IT'S SUCH A CRAZY WORLD OUT THERE I JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO SEE HER IN MY SIGHT. I KNOW IT WON'T BE LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME, BUT FOR NOW I HAVE A TIGHT GRIP ON MY DAUGHTER. HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCE THIS? HOW WAS IT WHEN YOUR CJILD HAD TO BE AWAY FROM U THE FIRST TIME? I WON'T GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT HER. MY MOTTO IS IF SHE CAN'T GO, THEN I CAN'T GO. HELP HONEST OPINION IS WELCOMED. THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO RESPOND I DO APPERCIATE IT. GOD BLESS!!!

YES! I had the same exact anxiety you do. When I had my first baby I was overly protective and let me tell you there is NOTHING wrong with it. Your baby needs you and she is loving the closeness trust me. My little girl is almost 4 now and she is fine. I have now since let her stay at other peoples houses (family only). Don't ever let your motherly instinct or feelings go. Yes you will have normal "what if" moments when she is older but there is no better supervision than from a mother who is aware of all the "what ifs". Dn't worry and enjoy her being little. I mean yeah other people such as family you should allow to hold her, even if you gotta breath through the long agony minutes until she is back into your arms..lol. I've soo been there.

Thats been my problem to i dont let anyone that i dont trust watch my son and with all his medical problems and feeding porblems that leaves me with only a couple people but i know that there are times when i need a break and i need to let go also so maybe try having one night everyonce in a while. and yes that is going to be a problem when she has to go to school or daycare or anything like that. theres no problem with going out but calling to make sure she is ok.

That has been my husbands saying from the get go. you should never go where your kids can't, We would have one night out a year, we would go have a quited meal, I still called my mom before, dearing and after the meal. Our kids are older now so they have sleepovers and we do get out more. but I beleve what you are saing is fine. You should let family hold the baby it is good that she get to know them, dont worry it will work out!
