I had that w/ my twins, they found mine at 14 weeks when I started gushing blood (scared the heck out of me!) My boy twin's placenta was low lying, I had periodic bleeding/spotting until about 22 weeks when the placenta moved up, after that everything was fine. I went for weekly ultrasounds and had a few restrictions from the doctor (such as no intercourse, heavy lifting, etc) He did not order bed rest for me but because I was so freaked out (I have a history of miscarriages & infertility) I put myself on bed rest! I laid on the couch getting up only when I had to. Just make sure your doctor monitors you w/ ultrasounds and chances are everything will be fine.

i have just been told that i have a low lying placenta, which looks as though it is placenta previa but they cant give me a definate until i am 18 weeks when i go for my next ultrasound. i have no idea about this as i have done some research on it on the net but it is more confusing than anything. i have also read the other posts on here and so i have my fingers crossed now for the both of us that our placents will move and all will be ok. i had some bleeding with my second child but nothing like what i am having now. both my first 2 children were natural births so the though of a possible c-section is quite daunting for me. i am also a bit concerned about this as i am unable to have an epidural because of my bad back, so i will have to have a general, where in doing this i will miss the birth of my child. it would be good to hear how you are getting on. so please keep us updated.
best of luck

I had this with my 2nd and 3rd child. I spotted pretty bad with my 3rd. i was told no sex and no hard activities. With both my placenta had moved. Have you had a c-section with a previous birth? That is why, or so I have been told, is why I had ther placenta previa.

I also had a very low lying placenta with my second pregnancy and it eventually migrated north so no worries at all.  I wouldn't sweat it too much... just be sure to keep an eye on the situation throughout your pregnancy.

I had a low lying placenta with my 2nd child. I had no problems and at another ultrasound they found out everything was fine. It is not the same as placenta previa as the placenta is not covering the opening. In most cases everything turns out ok. Hope this was helpful.
