I found Messies Anonymous years ago, it has helped me, I still have to stay focused. I have to have a daily routine, staying first thing of a morning. The children need to be taught very young to put things back where they belong, while it is in your hand hang it up, put it in the waste can, put it in dirty clothes, just handle in once. One Day at a Time!

I agree. My daughters are now 15 months and I had made a basket with a pretty pink liner and filled it with toys They quickly pulled all the toys out and Gracee has this habit of throwing behind her back and not looking. I walked each one of my babies to toys put my hand over theirs and picked it up with them saying the word pick up then together we walked the toy to the Pink basket and dropped it in. That was when they were 13 months now all Ihave to say are the key words PICK UP, PINK, BASKET, PUT AWAY. Ava does this now on her own Gracee together we are working on her throwing and putting away. Actually tonight was the first time she put a toy away on her own. I'm not worried it just takes time and repeating.
