i was 11 weeks old when my mum gave me whole milk (i wouldnt drink breast milk, formula and i would only have the whole milk in my food or in hawlix (doctor reccomended her to do it to get the milk in me and put me on solids to) so from 11 weeks old i was on whole milk and solids. she also gave me yoghurts and cheese to help give me calcium. i give my 9 month old between 2- 3oz a day to get him used to the taste and texture and he is doing really well with it. my best friend has a 10 month old baby and has had to move him straight on whole milk completely (recommended by her pediatrition) because he refused his formula full stop. personally i dont think it will harm to give them an oz or 2 just to get them used to the taste and texture, i did ask my doctor first and she said to go ahead. but if your unsure you should really ask your doctor or pediatrtion for more advice and info. good luck and best wishes :)

Hi Nicole,
My daughter is turning 1 next Thursday, February 25th. I slowly started to wean her off the breast and transitioning her to Organic Whole Milk. As of this week she is officially on whole milk. My son was the same age (about 11 1/2 months) Talk to your Pediatrician to see what he/she recommends.

Hope this helps a bit.

Dietician told me 12 months, but to continue giving poly vi sol for the extra vitamins, but I have a preemie. Might be different for full term babies.

I have always heard that babies have a hard time digesting cow's milk before they are 1. I have also known people that have started earlier than that and their babies were just fine. I personally think they need breastmilk/formula until their first birthday, because of all the nutrients they get from it. I would have a talk with your pediatrician and he/she can give you a better idea.
