Hey! This is a new thing for me to even look at this site... I had my baby in November so she is almost 5 months old. I am a stay at home mom for the time being, and find it hard....anyone else have the same problem? I am struggling with feeling alone and anxiety, depression...Anyone who feels the same please reach out!! Thank you!

My daughter is two now but I remember the first six months quite well. Its very important to make sure you have open lines of communication with your partner about your needs. Yes, I realize they work hard all day and are probably exhausted when they get home but gently remind them that its important for your well being as well as your daughter's for you to have some peace and quiet and to hand off your little one for small periods of time every day.

Do not forget to use your support group (Mother, sisters, female in laws, other friends with children) even just talking to them for short periods of time can be immensely helpful to you and your state of mind. Whether you are breastfeeding or using formula, you would NOT be a bad mom if you wanted to pump several meals worth of milk into the fridge (Or have a couple bottles made up) so that your spouse or a family member (or even a sitter) could come watch your darling daughter for 30 min or so while you do something for you (nap, take a shower, meditate, etc.)

As for the depression... have you had a chance to talk to your OBGYN about it? It could be postpartum depression, in which case you really need to get some outside help for both your sake and your child.

But know you are not alone and the way you feel IS COMPLETELY NORMAL... especially if she is your first child. I hope I was helpful....
