My son, who just recently turned 1, has a fever for the first time and I'm not sure how to break it. His temperature reached 100.4 before he wouldn't let me keep the thermometer under his arm any more. I gave him a luke warm bath, changed him into a lighter onsie, and gave him a new bottle. earlier in the day he was fine, he ate and played but as the day went on he had mood swings were he became grumpy for an hour then he was fine. His cheeks were cool but his body just kept getting warmer, which is why i checked his temperature. He didn't sleep well last night, I assumed it was because we just got back from visiting family for a week, 2 of his cousins were sick while we visited. He took 2 very short naps toda, which is normal for him. He did fine on the trip, but today, not so much. I'll be checking his fever through out the night to see if it goes down, but I'm not sure what all to do to make it go down. When I gave him his luke warm bath he was shivering and screaming but his body seemed to of cooled off a tad. Any suggestions on how to break his fever would be greatly appreciated.
