I put something from what my husband and I were eating on my daughter's plate, and slowly changed it all over to smaller portions of what we were eating.  Including Veggies, fruit, meat, etc.  Just usually cut down into smaller bites and portions.  Now at 4 she eats just about anything you put on her plate.  I always exclaimed over how good the food was on my plate did she want to try it, and usually she would.  She even eats salad...Yes letuce, carrots, but I have to put ham and cheese on it too (sometimes) with Ranch is her favorite...but as she would say "Not too much mommy!"  I think offering a bite of what you are eating can intrest them in different foods.  We do this at restraunts too...often she doesn't get a kids meal because she gets stuff of both mine and my husbands plates and loves the variety!

My daughter wouldn't eat any real solid foods until she was 13 14 months old. I just kept nursing her to make sure she got enough nutrients, and fed her the gerber graduates meals to attempt to eat.

what adult food won't your 1yr eat? My son will only eat certain foods. He'll eat two different meats, potatoes, certain pastas, and we've just found a way for him to eat broccoli and cauiflour. He'll eat the fruit. My doctor said it was normal as long as he got one good meal a day and ate healthy snacks all day. We do have a hard time with the veggies and certain starches and meats though.
