My son Griffin has a fever of 99.8 though he feels much warmer than this. We gave him Tylenol last night and he threw it up, so far this morning he hasn't thrown up his Tylenol yet. He did just start part time preschool last Tues. should I call hi pediatrician at home or is this just a cold and I should let it pass? Help I'm a first time Mom and this is the first time my 10 1/2 month old has been sick and it's scary. What do I do?

Has he cut any teeth with out a fever? It could be a could or it could be that he is cutting teeth. Don't panic. It is a low fever. Call the doctor and set up an appointment. Keep him hydrated and keep up with the tylenol.

i would call the dr to let him know, but they usually don't do anything (at mine at least) until the fever is 102 but your dr can tell you what to do. try and give him little sips of juice very often to keep him hydrated if he is still vomiting or has diareah... and even though the first time is scary hang in there it won't last forever.

Sounds like a cold. You can always call the er and talk to a nurse. I've done that. But unless its a high temp of over 103 there is not much they can do for him. Just give him the Tylenol and make sure he has plenty to drink. I wouldn't be too worry if he doesn't want to eat any thing for awhile. Saltine crackers probably will be all that he will be wanting to eat. Let him sleep.
A fever is the way the body fights the bug. So its actually a good thing. Always you can go to www.webmd.com for more info.

stay calm. all kids get sick a lot and actually 99.8 is still a low-grade fever. Tylenol will help with this. also if the tylenol isn't keeping fever down a lukewarm bath can help. definitely call his dr., he/she will probably want to see him. also a humidifier in his room can help if he is stuffy. the most important thing is to try to keep his fever down. I'd bet he's feeling better in 24 hours or so. good luck.

I would keep him hydrated & see how the day plays out. If he can not keep anything down & refuses to drink, I would call the pedi. It sounds like he has some sort of bug. I would not send him to daycare until he is fever free for 24 hours, because he can still be contagious to the other children. Just keep him hydrated ... if his temperature goes above 102.5 I would take him to the ER to see what is going on. Hope he feels better!

I would call the pediatrician. Set an appt for tomorrow. With him being exposed to other children in preschool it's best to be safe! Keep him hydrated and cool with light clothing and maybe because he kept the Tylenol down this morning, his fever may come down! Don't panic! All kids will get sick eventually!
