try letting him brush his teeth. or you brush them for him and then tell him, "its your turn" that way you know his teeth are clean...lol i actually used to brush my boys teeth all the time and it was the worst. they would cry all the time. then i handed them the tooth brush after i had brushed their teeth and boy did they actually enjoy it. as little as they are they sure like to feel like big kids and its a great way to show them some responsibilities...hope that helps...good luck

i started brushing his teeth already and my son cries nonstop... so what i did was hold his head so he will stop moving it side to side and put the brush on his teeth... i was surprised coz his gums bled... i am afraid i had hurt him... but thanks guys for the advise i will still train him to brush and good luck to me...:))

my son loves to brush.. we got him a baby/kid tooth brush i think its pooh bear and baby orajel tooth and gum cleanser it has sesame street characters on it.. what i did was like you i showed him(he's 19 months now but he's been brushing since i cant even remember like his first 2 teeth) i made it into this biiig production i put him in the bath tub then brush my teeth and let some i know it sounds gross but some of the foam from my tooth paste go on my mouth and he cracks up then i give him his with the toothpaste allready on and say you do like mama hunny and he does.. then after or before i let him do it i brush his teeth he's not thrilled i'm sure not many kids are but when i give it to him to do himself he gets all happy.. its safe i mean they obviously shouldnt drink the stuff but i would assume knowing its gonna be used for babies its non toxic.. i hope i helped

my son is 18.5 months and he doesnt really like to have his teeth brushed but it has to be done and he just needs to get over that but we switched him to an actual brush for toddlers not the finger brush anymore and ill hand it to him after im done brushing so he can play with it and have him learn on his own also in a way just by experiance also you could try to see if after you brush your sons teeth and give it to him to "play" with you can brush your teeth and show him how you do it also and its a good thing cuz mommy and daddy both do it too my son mostly just sucks off the tooth paste if there is any left on there and then he will kinda chew on it and i deff encourage the chewing cuz really it does brush it even that way but i let him have that "play time" with the brush so he doesnt just think its just "gage brush your teeth" and then i have to hold his head up or back to get in his mouth
