My 2 1/2 Year Old Has A Melt Down When I Wear My Hair Up!?

So this is so weird...my son has been doing this for at least a year now. In the beginning we thought it was cute, and just figured it was him being a demanding toddler. We just figured it was a phase he would grow out of. But he is still doing it, and its getting really annoying. If my hair is in a bun, pony tail, I'm wearing a headband, my bangs are pulled back in any way...he has a total melt down! Some days I can get through half of the day with my hair up and he won't notice. Or sometimes he will say something about it and I will tell him, sorry bud I'm wearing my hair up today...and then he forgets. But on most occasions he will try to pull my hair out, and cry...like really cry. As soon as I take it down he stops and starts to smile. I feel like its that he doesn't recognize me or something when my hair is up? I don't know....but its really frustrating. Is this a phase? Have any of your kids done this or something similar? Should I be concerned?

In my opinion, he's doing it because you keep giving in.
There's no reason for him to act like that. He knows it's you. I would stop giving in and leave your hair how it is. If he takes a fit over it, just ignore it. Tell him mommy can wear her hair however she likes.
