My 2yr old son got in October bcuase 2 weeks before he actually became very ill with swine flu and pnemonia at the same time. We take vitamines everyday so the whole, eat healthy and take vitamins to protect yourself is just a damn myth. Myself, my husband and our son got it and all of us were fine. My husband had a sore arm for 2 days and my son didn't even flinch when he was poked in the arm by the needle. Our daughter was too young to get it but she is now 6 months and if there is another wave of this flu she will get it also...i think of it this way since my son became ill... If something happened to my kids from the swine flu, would i be able to live with myself knowing it could have been prevented. My son became ill before the clinics for the vaccine were even open, that's why we had to wait 2 weeks and we stood in lineup for 2.5hours in the cold to get the vaccine. I have no regrets with my decission at all. The seasonal flu changes every year, this is why we need the flu vaccine every year, so in my opinion this is just the seasonal flu and they are blowing to be bigger then needed in the media but some people say it takes 7-10 years to test a vaccine...i don't agree. Like i said ti changes every year so if that was true we would be waiting for the vaccine for the flu from when i was 14-17...the swine flu vaccine and the seasonal flu vaccine have the same ingredients in them, the only difference is the flu strain.
Good luck with your decision:)

Hi My son is almost two ( 23 mths ) he had the swine flu jab before Christmas apart from like the other vaccines they have ( few tears with the actual jab !) he didnt seem to have any side effects I was told there may be some tenderness in his leg for 24hrs but he was fine. I also had the jab and felt very stiff and sore that evening but apart from thatwas fine only mild side effects in some cases so dont worry it is better for your child to have the jab than not... My son did get a slight cold within a few days but not sure if that was anything to do with his jab ! Good luck and stay positive it will be fine.
