Heather is right. I swear by vick's on the feet too! It will work 100% of the time for just about any illness(cold, flu, and stuffy nose or coughs)

It also helps if you prop up the head of their crib mattress. I did it but putting a couple blankets underneath the mattress. Otherwise- like Kristin said- use a nasal aspirator (they HATE it but it does really help), put a humidifier or vaporizer (I prefer the vaporizer... it's warmer moisture which loosens up gunk), and you can also buy Vick's Baby Rub to put on their little chests (make sure it's NOT the regular adult vick's vapor rub, you can't use that until they are 2 years old). As strange as it sounds, the rub is GREAT to put on their feet and then put socks on over it. I know it sounds bizarre, but I had numerous people tell me to try it when my little one had her first cold- and it really did help! My grandfather does it himself and swears by it.
Good luck. =)

Saline drops, bulb syringe thing, humidifier, warm baths/steamy showers. That's all I've got.
