THANKS FOR THE ADVICE, I WILL TRY AND IGNORE THE TANTRUMS AND SEE HOW THAT GOES, MY HUSBAND DOESNT AGREE THATS A GOOD WAY OF HANDELING THE SITUATION BUT I WILL SEE, AND AMANDA I DO OFTEN THINK HE IS BORED!! WE HAVE TRIED TO DO MANY THINGS TO GET HIM INVOLVED BUT HE WONT PARTICIPATE.

I agree, ignore him and walk away.
As for school, he will soon learn that that sort of behaviour will not be tolerated. Kids normally behave differently at school to at home. My 5 yr old can be a monster at home, at school he is the perfect.

Do you think he might be bored??? I know my son plays up more when he gets bored

As you've seen, spanking teaches kids it's alright to hit so it's not the best way to discipline.
I found the best way to deal with tantrums was to ignore them. Walk away and don't give him any attention. A lot of tantrums are because they want attention even if it's negative attention. My kids learnt that if they wanted me to listen then they had to calm down first.

What discipline are you using? What do you do when he's throwing tantrums?

We need to know a bit more before we could give advice.
