My 7 month old son does not sleep good unswaddle at night and he wakes himself up by moving all around until I swaddle him. He is getting to big to swaddle and I really want to break him of it. I have got him out of the habit of being swaddle during the day but I need some suggestions for the night time.

Try a positioner. My son is also seven months old and loves his positioner. I think it is because it feels like a big hug, lol. Maybe that will help him to transition. In time you may then be able to try to get him to sleep without anything. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same issues. We used the miracle blanket and loved it. I'm going to try to leave her unswaddled during day time naps ---not that she takes enough but whatever. She sleeps fine with us at night no swaddle go figure! good luck!

just dont swaddle him, it will be hard for the first week or so but it will be worth it. Or if u want to introduce it slowly, dont swaddle him during the day and only do it at night then slowly do it at night aswell.

Hi Angela, my advice is to get him out of it ASAP! Go through the nights of broken sleep and frustration now.. before it gets worse.

My daughter was swaddled up to 6months old and was only waking once a night if that when swaddled. It was fantastic, and then when we removed it - (she was too big for it) she woke up to 6 times a night.. we went on settling her and then putting her back into bed for over 3 months (it was soooo horrible) I regret swaddling her as she's a horrible sleeper moves all around her cot like a madwoman! Banging her head and legs - im sure if she didn't stay in it for so long she would have been an easier to settle and less restless sleeper.. It has its benefits but it also has its down sides - we put bumper pads around the cot and gave her a baby pillow, it has helped with banging and waking up as the pillow has familiar smells on it and the bumper pads stop the bumps!

Goodluck =)
