My 8 year old had had trouble going to sleep since she was born. She's been on meds to help, and they did. Now that she's been off for 7 months she has the hardest time falling asleep on her own. I don't know what else to do. Any advise?

Look into some Homeopathics. There are several diffrent things you can use. Melatonin like Shanna said and Valerian is also one that I have used w/my two year old. If you have a natual food store or even a Whole Foods there are usually people who can help point you in the right direction for your childs specific needs.

Melatonin is a natural sleep aid. It also helps with ADHD and other issues. You can regulate the dosage and it does not take very much at all. My son is 6 and he has a hard time going to sleep. I have 1mg pills and cut them into quarters and I give him a quarter and in about 20 to 30 mins he is ready to go to sleep.
