I dont know what to do or if there is damage but I feel bad, she rolled right off. She has never done that before and it scared the life out of me. Has anyone else had that happen to them?

My daughter just fell off the couch a couple days ago. She's trying to sit up but I thought I had her propped up just right. She ended up leaning forward too far and toppled right off. I think it scared her more than anything else. I just checked for bumps and calmed her down. I think it happens to all babies at one time or another. As long as there is no change in behavior (not eating or throwing up or crying for a really long time) then the baby should be fine. Baby's bones are soft for a reason... It makes them more durable for this kind of situation.

my daughter was sitting on our couch and dove head first off while i was sitting right next to her. my doctor said that as long as arms and legs can still move, you shouldnt have to worry too much.

Got to love this mobility. Yes, I have had this happen a few times, and it was worse once he learned how to climb up onto the bed. You don't say how old she is, but you could position pillows around her to create a bit of a barrier. The safest is to just put a blanket down on the floor and let her go. Be prepared to vacuum, sweep, and mop a lot and get your gates up. Also, stock up on those gel BooBoo packs and just keep them in the fridge. Now that she has had a taste of mobility, she will not let it go.

Yes, it's scary but these knocks come with learning to use her body. You get to love, snuggle, and comfort her when things don't go according to plan. Just make her surroundings as safe as you can. As for if there was damage, she would start acting strangely. Watch her for fussiness that can't be calmed or comforted, it could be a real head injury and don't let it go all day, give it maybe and hour and take her to the doctor. If you are very concerned, take her anyway. When it comes to the brain, it is always better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.

My baby hasn't rolled off the bed but she has bumped herself around a little. I'm sure your baby is fine. It is very scary though. Honestly you probably feel worse about it than she did. I would just make sure to put her in a crib when she sleeps or a playpen so it won't happen again. When she moves up to a big girl bed you can buy side rails so she won't be rolling anywhere too.

My husband put our daughter on our bed one day and turned his back for a few seconds and she'd rolled right off! I ran back there so mad, but he didn't mean for it to happen and it never happened again. She was absolutely fine, although I made sure there was nothing broken, her head wasn't hurt, and didn't let her sleep for an hour after it happened. It scared me, too. You're a good mom - it was an accident. Try to relax. Someone gave me a wedge for sleeping and some play time, and I found my Boppy worked great, too, to combat rolling.
