um you might want to talk to your doctor about something called early childhood anorexia. it is rare but can happen. it doesnt neccessarily have the same reasons behind as "normal" teenage anorexia does...it is something that there is special counseling for and they work with them on eating over all and trying new things too

My oldest stoped eating for a while at about that age. After her doc. told us not to give her any milk and to limit everything els she drank to 3 cups a day until she started eating again she still would not eat. We took her in to the ER where there was a specailist in who found that while she was not running a feaver or had any normal symptioms she had a respitory infection that was actualy very bad. he made her promise to eat at least some icecream everyday for a week (she was also put on antibiotics after a big shot of them) or she would have to spend time in the hospital. We were sent home with the script and orders to get her any kind of ice cream she wanted. Oh and to get a new Ped. The doc could not say for sure if the infection caused her to stop eating or if the lack of eating caused the infection, but was clear that the doc should not have brushed it off and we had done everything we could for the couple of weeks. We had been in the doc office every 2 days getting that she wont starve herself BS or she is constipated Bla bla bla. Translation I HAVE NO CLUE! Get her in and MAKE the doc listion! if the doc does not go else where dont wait until she is lathargic and verry pale to make that trip to the ER no matter what the doc says.

After about 3 days on the med she suddenly wanted pizza! or anything with tomato sause. We also started cooking only with fresh foods (no prepackaged) and let her do something that helped cook every meal. All that has helped and while she is and always has been small she at least eats and I know that everything going in is good for her as long as she eats at home..

i thnk kids get picky this age.. ofcourse i dont think that they will starve themselves lol.. i think theyre realizing the taste more of stuff, veggies, meat esp so theyre thinking ok dont like it anymore, theyre also realizing the choices with eating too, before when theyre young they'll eat just about anything, bc they just want to satisfy hunger.. but to help i would prob cut down a bit on the cups.. and then maybe let her know that she wont have any treats unless she eats however many bites you agree on, or finishing it all, if you do fair portions for her age then she should eat it if she wants anything else treatwise

my son went through that at the same age. i took him to the doctor once a month to get his weight checked, gave him vitamins (ensure is great!) and let him eat ONLY the Mac and Cheese(all he wanted). He got sick of it in 3 month and moved onto another food (yes, just 1). I would not let him have any treats, though. he had to eat 2 bites of a meat, veg, fruit, dairy to get a pudding cup, or a cookie(something small) Never forced him to eat anything. Paid $$ to try stuff as he got older and was honest w/ him on why I did or didn't like it. he eats most everything now, and is 5'11", 170# and 15yo.

I found with my girls, they went through non-eating stages. And then suddenly have outgrown every outfit they owned. I never really worried about it because it never lasted for every meal. Sooner or later during the day they would eat. As long as she drinking, why not try some pedialite, or a nutrious meal replacement shake so as to ensure she is hydrated and recieving nutrients. Lasts more then a few days at a time....yeah, see your family doctor asap!

It's probably nothing to worry about, but if it really seems like she isn't eating anything over a week or two, you might want to see her doctor just to be sure there isn't an underlying problem. If you can give her some choices at meal and snack times it might help her to feel like she has more control of what she's eating and entice her to eat more, if you aren't doing that already. My son is 2 and has days when it seems like he hardly eats anything, but it never lasts more than a few days.

well she wont le gerself starve she will eat when she is hungrey. my son went through that too and when we asked the doctor he told us thats fine beacuse when he gets hungrey enogh he will eat and sure enough did. so i wouldnt be too worried just make sure you consistantly ask if she wants something or what ever hope this helps!!!!
