I am a 26 year old stay at home mommy of three a stepdaughter 9, my son 3, and daughter 18 months. My husband is gone most of the time and doesn't help out with the little ones at all. It seems like just when I am about to go crazy and loose my mind completly I find my self acting like a little kid.... my kids do it why cant I. I scream and yell and run around the house and dance and sing and play chase and other stuff like that. And after words I feel silly but no longer am I about to go carzy or loose my mind. I was just wondering if other moms found them selves doing this same thing?

I figure if you cant be a kid with your kids then when you? Your kids will remember those days. Plus it helps you relase some of the stress and preasures of the housework and being just mom you are so allowed to enjoy your children.

You are so not alone in this! My husband and I both do this and our daughter thinks it's hilarious.

Yes, I do it too. When we are stressed our cortisol levels get too high. We weren't meant to function with high levels of cortisol over a long period of time. Studies have shown that moving and dancing and all around acting like "kids" reduces those stress hormones in our bodies.

they had an ad a few months ago for McDonald's and the ad was set in the typical playground with big coloured slides and climbing equipment, etc, that they usually have at Macca's restaurants. The only think that wasn't typical about it was that the playground was giant - everything was adult sized. And it featured a bunch of adults, wearing their business suits and all, have a blast playing on it. I actually thought to myself, "if only!" How much fun would it be if they actually had adult sized playgrounds like that? Sooo many adults want to just lose it and act like a kid from time to time, but it's not really encouraged is it? I bet if they actually had things like that for grown ups they would get used ALL THE TIME. We actually have an indoor play centre here for kids, with giant slides and climbing equipment and ball pits, etc. I never knew it until earlier this year, but it can be hired out at night for adult parties. A friend hired it for her partner's 30th birthday, and we went along and turns out when they do adults parties they also have giant inflatables. There was an inflatable gladiator ring with the raised platforms and inflatable hitting poles, and an in inflatable basket ball court. It was great fun! And our kids came along too and a wonderful time was had by all. But the adults enjoyed it most of all!

Don't forget to play ont he playground with them when you take them out they love it and its huge fun we do it as a family, even normally oh so serious dad joins in lol. I think we were way more disapointed than the kids when they banned grown ups from the indoor playground it also made it way harder as our daughter needs extra help sometimes as she has dyspraxia ( makes her unbalanced and slightly uncoordinated.

Its good u play along with ur children. Being SAHM is rough stuff. Its hard not to go a lil nutty lol. My husband works very long hrs so I find myself going a lil bit crazy. Its wouldnt surprise me that if all the woman in mental hospitals were once SAHMs lol.

if you can't act like a kid with your kids then why have them. me and my son when he was two broke my bed frame. i never feel stupid now i'm 2 years younger but i don't see why that should make a diffrence. i say scream yell bounce of the walls with them aslong as your not breaking your rules to do it i.e jumping on the bed if theres no jumping on the bed aloud in your house. if my son can sit for two hours playing with cars on his mat why can't i. if my tot wants to run around on his hands and knees acting like a dog why the hell can't i with him. i say go for it have fun i think it helps make a ever lasting bound with your child.
