Does anyone here nap on the couch with their baby? not all night sleeping in bed, but just an hour or so on the couch when baby won't stop crying after the essentials are taken care of?

I seriously appreciate all of the input from everyone. My mother-in-law rudely woke myself up with my daughter this morning as we were taking a short nap on the couch, telling me about how I was going to kill my daughter. I didn't think it was all that taboo to nap with your baby, but then again I'm a new mother and don't know much :)

there is nothing like napping with your little one. i have tons of pictures of myself and hubby napping with our kids - at all ages. i have slept with my baby in the recliner all nite before even. when they have snotty faces it helps them sleep better to be somewhat upright - helps momma get more sleep then too! sometimes they just need that cuddling. and i sure enjoy it!

Thanks for your response.. I appreciate it. I'm just curious because I've heard people freak out about the possibility of rolling over on the baby, etc. I'm very very in tune to where she is all the time, and I've also read that usually drugs/alcohol is involved with instances of infant death via napping on the couch...

I take a nap with my baby everyday either on the couch or my bed and he's 5 months. I think it helps him take a better nap and helps me out too!
