My 4month old has been sleeping great the last month she has been going down for a nap every two hours sleeping for 30-40min with the exception of her mid day nap which usually lasts 2-3hrs. At night she sleeps for 4-5hrs before waking up to eat then she goes back to bed for 3-4hrs. However the last two days she has been fighting me tooth and nail. She will fall asleep as long as I am holding her but as soon as I lay her down she is wide awake. She doesn't self soothe and is exhausted!! She yawns all day and is constantly rubbing her eyes...she is being so cranky too. I don't know what would cause this, or what to do...suggestions?

Hey thanks for the response Melissa. We actually have one of those seahorses too...Might have to try it. I think I figured out today that she is most definitely teething. She has been running a tad bit of a fever and constantly sucking on her hand while drooling all over everything. She will be totally fine then burst out crying...she finally slept while I rocked with her for awhile so I'm hoping getting a little bit of sleep will help. My poor lil baby :( breaks my heart wish there was more I could do.

I think its natural and ok for your tiny baby to want to be in your arms(although annying sometimes!) you could wear her in a sling or carrier, so she feels like your still holding her but you have freedom to move around and have your hands free. I did that sometimes with my son when he was around the same age. We also gave him a dummy to self soothe, but 2 years on I'm kinda regretting it becuase he is SO attached to it. Another thing which my son still uses is a Fisher Price musical light up seahorse, its soft and plays music for about 5 mins and it really helped settle my son back to sleep at night, it is the best thing and only cost about 20 dollars.
