My son will be turning 11 months on the 3rd. I sometimes feel like I'm not doing enough with him to keep his mind simulated. I play with him at home with his various toys, play peek-a-boo, chase him around...he's still crawling, play catch and throw with balls and take him for walks around our neighborhood to explore. Can you please offer some advice on other activities to do with him.

I like putting child friendly CD's on. I get kids music out of the library, or I play stuff I like such as The Beatles. My son is 14 months old and he's not quite walking either. We do all the things everyone else mentioned too (except the finger painting, I'm not that brave yet), but the music is fun for us, he loves to stand holding on to the coffee-table and dance! Sounds like you're doing great though!

If you don't mind the mess there is always finger painting. I recommend using something like pudding in case of fingers going into mouths. I just tried coloring and my son in more interested in putting the crayons back into the box than using them. Bubbles are always a favorite.

It sounds like you're doing great! The library can be fun, too, if you have one that he can crawl around in (ours has a children's area that's more isolated, so it's safe for my daughter to crawl around). The only thing that might be good is to find him other kids to play with. I have a hard time with that one. Don't worry, you're doing great! He will let you know when he needs more stimulation and will show an interest in counting/colors/etc. when he's ready.

My daughter is 10 1/2 months and I sometimes feel like I'm not doing enough either. She loves to read so I will talk about the colors in her books. We count the objects and try to find similar ones in our house. She also loves peek-a-boo, chase, and her toys and balls too.
