My 4 month old sleeps on his tummy & for the past month or so will flip himself thru out the night waking himsef up & not knowing how to flip back. Its getting worse. He now does it every hour!!!!!! i cant sleep, Im tired & cranky plus i have a 19month old to look after as well. Besides a sleep positioner, any words of advice?

My 10 weeks old son (born 7 weeks prematurely) used to wake himself up all the time by moving his arms. I took my paediatrician's advice and wrapped him up with his arms down, this worked a treat and he now has a solid sleep at night. He now sleeps for 4-5 hours at a time instead of 1-3 hours. Have you tried sleeping him on his back? and wrapped up? You must be very sleep deprived, i know i was. Good luck!

You may have to swaddle your baby & place him in his bassinet. Some babies just dont like to be alone, but u gotta try. Let him cry a lil bit if u have to. Get some sleep books for reassurance if u have to. Good luck!

I assume that means that you have tried a sleep positioner? You can always put a large stuffed animal next to him. It needs to be one of the stiffer ones. If he always flips over the same way you can put very small chocks under two of the legs of his crib - on the side that he flips towards. this might be just enough to keep him from flipping over. They must be very small so that you aren't risking tipping over the crib. You could also get one of the motion sensor things that will come on and play music and lights - the idea is that this will distract him from crying and since he is already tired he may go to sleep watching and listening to this.
