Overtired, overwhelmed and on the brink of a breakdown...

I'm currently juggling three kids, 9, 2 and 4 mo. My oldest is homeschooled, my 2 year old is going through her 'terrible' twos and potty training and my baby is teething. I'm in charge of ALL of the housework and even though my 9 year old is old enough to help he does such a terrible job I have to redo it anyway and it's such a fight to get him to do anything anyway it's barely worth getting his help. I live on an acreage, so there are outside chores to do now - gardening, mowing. I'm so tired, I'm lucky if I can get to bed by 10:30, and I'm up by 5 am most mornings with my two youngest, plus feedings in between with babe. I'm a hard worker, but it's getting to be too much for me to handle. I'm trying to stay positive and be proud and grateful for what I have but I don't know how much more I can take. I've repeatedly asked my husband to give me a hand but he rarely does, and usually only when I throw a fit. It drives me crazy that he can stay up all hours of the night playing on the computer, get up late every day for work, and not help with dishes or complains about how tired he is. I hate the person I've become, I feel so irritated all the time and I don't want my kids to suffer. I love my husband but he's so lazy - and he is pushing to get farm animals. I know we would benefit greatly from having a dairy cow (we go through so much milk), but I can't handle more chores and I know I can't count on him to take care of any animals.

Any suggestions?

You can do it! You're a superwoman. But... Don't get a cow. Wait a couple of years. :)

Knowing the chores will always be there and are building up to unmanageable levels when I don't do them is fantastic. Stepping on toys and food all over the floor is great too.

you need to realize that weather you do the chores or don't those chores will always be there so what is important is to always give yourself time out.
