My doctor has diagnosed me with this. He says it can lay dormant for 2 years. Has anyone else had this or is having this problem?

I did not think I had Postpartum Depression in the beggining. I felt a little off but up to about a week ago I was feeling real sad. I cried at the drop of a hat and I guess it could have a lot to do with the life situation I am in. My husband and I are not what you could say with alot of money. We get by. Then we had to move in September to our first house and it has just been a bit crazy since then so I guess it was bound to happen. My doctor put me on Zoloft and the 25mg seems to have done the trick. I see a counselor every 2 weeks and it seems a little better in just the short time I have been on the meds(1 week).

I was definately heading that way (if I wasn't already there) a couple of days after my son was born (he's 2 1/2 now). The best thing to do is take meds and talk to a counselor. And NEVER skip doses or appointments. It's not an easy thing to do, but you need to learn your "warning signs" as well, and have others watch out for them. It will get better, though.
