Hi! My almost 4yr old daughter who's been potty trained for almost a year has been having several #2 and one #1 accidents lately. I don't know what to do! At this point I told her no more computer or tablet as it has happened during usage of both so we think maybe she's just distracted. Today I told her no more big girl underwear and that she has to wear pull-ups until she starts listening to her body and goes to the potty when she feels the urge. We've thrown out several of her favorite underwear and telling her that doesn't seem to be getting through to her either. Please help as I'm doing everything in my power not to scream at her. Nothing seems to be getting through to her!

Everything worked itself out. We put her back into pull-ups during the day and told her she needed to show us she's a big girl and to listen to her body so she knows when to go. She immediately got sick of wearing them all of the time and of us constantly asking her if she has to use the bathroom. By day 3 she was back wearing big girl underwear. We still ask her when she's doing distracting things like her tablet or computer if she has to go and ask her to try going even if she says she doesn't (and usually pee comes out). She does have a baby brother but he's almost 9 months old and she is super adjusted.

Okay, let's rule out a few things first, let's work together.

A new baby in the family?

A recent change in the house, school, etc?

Maybe she is scared of the toilet recently?

I wouldn't punish her. I think something must be going on.

She's 4, you can speak to her and ask her why she is peeing and so on on herself.

Try this first, then we will think of other ways to solve the problem.
