My 3 year old son is absolutley fighting potty training all the way. I've tried everything, bribing with candy, toys, etc. Don't know what to do. Someone please help me.

At the risk of sounding blunt...is dad around? Have him take him into the bathroom everytime he goes ane watch him go, he see's dad going, he'll want to go too. Also use cheerios..."shoot" them or "make bubbles" in the water. lol, all sound funny I know and as for going #2, set a cup of tootsie rolls or something similar so he can see them and ONLY give them to him WHEN HE GOES! GOOD LUCK!

I know this is not what you want to hear: Give it a 3mo break and try again then. I have two boys almost 8 and 4. My older one was almost 4 when he finally was interested. The younger one I tried when he turned 2 and gave it a go every 3mo and finally at 3 he was ready. I used my kitchen timer - we started with every 20min, when the bell goes off it's time to sit on the potty. I had a sticker sheet. Small stickers for sitting on the potty and better ones if they actually went. Once they are staying dry with the 20min intervals add 5min everyday until they don't need the reminder.

Quoting Heather:

I am having the same problem. It is crazy. My son knows how to go on the potty but just will not. I tried all the things you did, but the advice I received was just let them go on the potty when they are ready. Boys are not like girls. They train late. One more thing a friend of mine used a food timer to train her son and he loved it. He thought it was a game. Good luck. Really I do understand.

Can you give more details about the food timer game?
