Potty Training Advice

My 19 1/2 month old daughter has made it clear that she's ready to potty train...she won't leave her diaper on at night or when she takes naps! I've tried taking her every hour to have her sit on her potty, but she will sit for 15 minutes, not go, then within 5 minutes, she's wet her panties.

Any suggestions???

This is still very young to potty train. Just remember that the experts say that a child under two has only 75% chance of knowing when they are going to pee and 100% chance of knowing that they want a poo. If your daughter is not ready then wait a while longer

I feel your pain...my daughter is the same age and does the exact same thing!!! Just keep it up and eventually she'll get it. With my eldest daughter she wouldn't go until I had sang her a potty song (I just made somthing repetitive up) and had given her a hug all while she was sitting on the potty. If she does go, make a huge deal out of it! Also you said you had her in panties? Did she pick them out herself? My eldest loved the movie Cars so we got her some boys underwear with 'Lightning' on them and she didn't want to get him wet. Good Luck :) Hopefully both our little ones will start getting it soon!!!!!

Leave her without anything on the bottom, no diaper, no pants. This way you can say "no peeing on the floor" and she can see the results of when she has to pee. Also give her a reward for going on the potty and make a really big deal out of it like jumping up and down and cheering. I am speaking only from experience with what worked for my daughter.
