So this is the most random thing I have ever posted but im at my wits end and don't know what to do I am sooo tired of cleaning the bedroom carpet daily. So here is my problem my three year old daughter is fully potty trained but still wears pull ups at nap and bed time. the issue is she will pull off the pull up and shred the gel crystals evvverywhere or if she poops either takes it off to poop or smears the poop on the walls we know she knows what she is doing is wrong cause she apologizes when she comes out an tells us what she did we have even put her sleepers on backwards to try and prevent this problem and had 20 min potty sessions before bed and nap time cold showers were recommend by our pediatrician to stop playing with the poop and the wall smearing but it breaks our heart and does not seem to make a difference any help would be sooo welcome.

I'd forget the cold showers. That sound like prison camp material. Bloody pediatricians *grumble grumble*

Maybe try just not puting pants on her at all, and put layers of plastic then sheet then plastic then sheet then plastic then sheet.....on her bed so it's a quick change of bedding if it gets dirty, and the potty beside her bed (like the olden days of the chamber pot) so she can hop on it quick if she has to. She might not want to poop in her pants, and gets frustrated when she can't avoid it.

You can also buy big drop sheets of plastic for painting, that you could put on her floor for now.

It's probably very frustrating for her to have her body not be able to keep up with her mind for now. Stay calm, stay kind, it will be over soon.

You could try leaving a potty in her room and if she uses it AND leaves the mess in the potty she gets a small incentive (sticker or something else you don't mind giving out daily). And since the potty is there you can try getting rid of the diaper....especially since she's just going to take it off anyway. It's hard to ignore this type of behaviour so since you have to pay it some attention you could make her clean some of it up with you.
Hope you find something that works.
