Potty-Training Problems with my 3 year old son

My son pees in the potty all the time, but we can't get him to poop in the potty if he has training pants or underwear on. If I leave him in just a large t-shirt with nothing on his bottom, he still poops on himself and then drops it into the potty. We have been having the same problem with him since potty-training started last September. I am at my wits end with him. We have tried sticker charts, matchbox cars, small action figures, etc., etc. and nothing works for very long. Help!!

Do not use pull up pants ever these are seen as nappies and he will continue to use them as such. He is now getting to the point of being to old for the potty. Use a toilet seat and take him to the toilet like mummy and daddy. All three of my kids went to the toilet and never used a potty. My daughter was 26 months when I started to toilet train her and I got her to poop in the toilet by making it a game. I know it sounds disgusting but we used to tell her to make a splash with her poop. She laughed like a drain and still does! I did however have to take her to the loo with me which at 26 months was not to bad but at 3 I think would be a little embarrassing. You can also buy toilet balls for boys to wee on to make going to the toilet a game and relieve the stress.
