copied from my original post in March 2009 babies...

My daughter has been having thin, acidic poop 4-5 times a day on and off for the last 3 weeks. thinking back, this has happened randomly over the last 6 months. she gets horrible diaper rash from it, even when we get her a clean diaper within a minute or two of it happening. I put her on a low acid, BRAT (bananas, rice, apple, toast) diet and no changes. Took her to the doc last night, said we were doing everything right to treat the diaper rash, but that her gut was the problem and then gave us three options to try to figure out the issue. 1, a week of probiotics to shock her system and flush out any bad bacteria fermenting in her intestines. 2, a week long lactose free diet to see if she is lactose intolerant. 3, celiac testing to see if she needs to go on a gluten free diet. Has anyone had problems like this or has experience with a toddler being lactose intolerant or a celiac? my husband and i are chefs so we are open and understanding to dietary concerns and allergies.

No, but it sounds like you have a good doctor. S/he is ruling everything out. I KNOW many people on these diets. My cousins daughters had horrible problems and had to be on glutton free diets. You can google almost anywhere and get recipes for these kinds of diets.
I remember my cousins having the exact same symptoms. I'm surprised I didn't see your post....I admin March 2009. My daughter was born the 16th.
