Lily was diagnosed as having Roseolla today. Have any other mom's had babies or toddlers have this?? If so, any suggestions? It's accompanied by an ear infection and some serious diahrea. Just looking for tips other than what the doc said because mom's usually know best ;) Thanks in advance!

This is one you just kind of have to sit back and let it take it's course. My son is just getting over it(the rash just disappeared this afternoon). Make sure you alternate tylenol and motrin, to help with the fever and achs and pains. Give plenty of fluids, and a lot of extra lovins. I don't know if your daughter is still in diapers and the diarrhea is causing diaper rash, but if it is, mix maalox(or any liquid antacid) and pure corn starch (from the baking aisle) until it makes a paste. Then put that on her bottom with some zinc oxide (diaper rash cream, I think pinxav is the best) over top of the other mixture. The maalox with neutralize the acid in her diarrhea, and the zinc oxide will help protect the rest of her skin from getting sore. Hopefully she will be feeling better soon. Once she starts with the rash part of the disease, then she will be feeling much better, because the fever will be gone.
