A routine for dinner? A general daily one? I do love having a routine, it makes everything feel less stressful. For the past 7 weeks since our baby was born it's been a bit altered, mostly because my husband is home for 3 months and is mostly in charge of the toddlerwrangling and little babies don't do schedules. And of course xmas gatherings etc mess with it. too. But, normally...
7ish Adults wake
7:30-8ish son gets up
8ish family breakfast
morning things: do a bit of chores, toddler plays by himself, we go outside, watch Pingu (5 min) on youtube, read stories
11:30-12ish son gets snack of fruit, cheese, raisins, maybe a boiled egg
My husband works next door and usually comes in for lunch with me after that
1-3ish nap for the boy, or if no nap he still has to take 1 hour rest in bed. I wake him up if he sleeps to 4
afternoon things: watch 10-15 minutes of dvd, make supper, boy plays with Daddy in a very active way
between 5-7 eat supper, feed the cat
bed at 7:30
free time for adults!

Wow sounds like you two have things so much better in hand then I ever have, and I love my husband but he works crazy hours and rarely sees our daughter I really need to work on this.

That is a very good question and I will love to see what people say. I have found that when my step kids are here it is easier to plan ahead and have a much better routine. There is just so much more going on, with 2 teenagers and a three year old, but when it is just my three year old daughter, I have gotten so lazy as to just have cold cereal for dinner (which sadly is one of my husbands favorite meals).

I too am looking for people who have go routines, but I also wonder if it varies on where you live. If we live in a warmer climate I think I would take my daughter out walking more, also we are a one car family and live in a nice sub-division but it is out of town by several miles. So some of my options aren't as open as other mothers might be.

What are your options? Do you have school aged kids? Do you have a car? This isn't meant to sound mean I just thought maybe other moms who are in similar situations such as you might help more and moms that are similar to me might help me more sorry to tromp all over your post it is just a great question.
