Scream, Smile, Scream

My 14 month old boy is experimenting with his voice range. He is randomly screaming. And I mean EXTREMELY LOUD high-pitch screaming. It is killing me! I'm trying to discipline him by saying "NO" in a deep voice and covering my ears to show he's being too loud. I think... No, scratch that. I KNOW he knows and it's like he's being mischief about it; because he giggles, thinks it's funny and gives me the most adorable smiles. But, my goodness. How can I control this issue? Or do I just deal it and embrace and in hopes he's going to be a famous singer one day? :) Suggestions would be grateful.

Hi Venessa,

BE QUIET MIKE is a really good book about this little boy who was born making loud music. Its fun and its cute this was one of my son's favorites. It conveys the message that not everyone thinks being loud is cool.

If it is warm out where you are, outside loud spots are great. This should be the only place he can scream. No where else.

Try to show loud singing is a little better than screaming.... hope some of this help.
