My 6 mo old has always had separation anxiety from me but it seems like it is getting worse. I can't go anywhere if it takes longer than 5-10 min because she HATES being alone in the car seat in the back seat. I have a ton of toys and music and mirrors set up for her that doesn't work. She can even see me from the back seat mirror i put up for her. She instantly cries , screams and gets so worked up her head starts to twitch and she has trouble breathing... I am at a loss. I am starting to get anxiety to drive her anywhere now.. I have never been one to let her cry for long but i have to be able to drive. She also does the same thing if i leave her in the crib to sleep or to play. Any suggestions? is this normal? i have some friends that say i should let her cry it out but she gets so worked up i have to pull over and get in the backseat to console her.... Looking forward to hearing what ya'll have to say. Thanks moms!!!

I have found that rehearsing situations with my kids, telling them what to expect, and keeping things familiar helps with separation anxiety. Also, I think that speaking to a child psychologist can help as well to provide resources.
