Setting a schedule

I have a 2 month old baby boy, and I need a schedule. As of right now he sleeps a lot during the day and wont really get a good sleep in until 3 am. Then he will wake up at 6 am. This is beginning to make me tired. For a while I could do it, but now I find myself resting the day away. I need sleep.

Firstly you have to remember that your LO is only 2 months old and should be sleeping for around 18 hours per day. So if you need to catch up on your rest when he is, then thats the best thing to do. That was one of the best pieces of advice i got when i had my little girl, was to nap when she napped. During the night though when he wakes for a feed, try not to stimulate him at all, dont talk to him, dont make eye contact, feed in the dark if you can, dont have the tv on and dont change his nappy unless he has pooped etc. this way he'll soon learn there is nothing exciting to be up for in the middle of the night and may sleep better, and go back to sleep sooner after his feed. Once my hubby went back to work after 3 weeks, was when we started to work on a schedule though, she would get up, stay up for about an hour then nap again. Each time she woke up i'd try to keep her up for about 60-90 minutes and then she would sleep better when she did nap or at night. hope some of this works for you :)
