Should my 9 month old still have 3 sleeps a day?

He (Sam) still sleeps well at night & I never put him down not tired!

Yes it is perfectly normal for a 9 month old to have 3 sleeps a day. "Experts" will tell you that babies drop to 2 day naps between 10 and 12 months and that a 9mo should be awake for no longer than about 3 hours. But many mums will tell you that babies can drop to 2 naps any time from about 7 months, all depends on the baby. My 10mo still has 3 naps most days.

I think some kids need more each child is diffrent so i would use your best judgement you are mommy and you know best. My baby took a nap every 3hrs about and she is down to 1 daily.

There is no reason why not. If your baby is sleepy then let them sleep. As they get older they will stay awake longer periods of time during the day. Enjoy the naps while you can.

As long as he's healthy and happy, don't worry about it. Sleeping time is growing and repairing time for his little body. Hope you've got the next size clothes ready! My son used to go into a phase of sleeping a lot, and then suddenly his clothes would be too short!

My 14 month old still goes for three naps a day, depending on the day. He is (and always has been) an amazing night time sleeper and he goes down great for his naps. Every child is different so play it by ear, and enjoy the quiet time for now!

from newborn to 1 year of age a child should have 15-17 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period an that includes naps so so three naps are fine my son had 3 naps till he was about a year old

My son sleeps 12 hours @ night & even though he only has 2 naps a day they equal about 4 hours. Sometimes I even have to give him 1 extra cat nap in the evening. Every baby is different so go by your babies cues.

I think it really depends on your child. My daughter is 7.5 months, sleeps 12 hours at night, and has 2 1.5 - 2 hour sleeps per day. I say do by his cues, if he is tired put him down, if not don't!

my daughter is 8 1/2 months old and she has three naps a day and she stills sleep through the night and goes to bed on time i dont see a problem with it as long as hes still sleeping the way he should at night if hes not then try to cut out one nap and see if that makes a difference

If he is sleeping, he needs it. Is he also sleeping ok at night? If not, that might be the reason for more napping. But really, if he's happy and you're happy, then just let him nap and you'll know when it's time to change by his cues.

GOOD for you!! :)

My daughter is turning 1 this sunday, and she is getting to the point that she only wants one mid afternoon!!!! There is no reason why if he is tired that he cant have a nap!!! :) :) Enjoy it while you can!!! :) I know that my daughter sleeps more when she is going through a growth spurt..... could that be the case??? :) Otherwise, DONT WORRY!!!! :) There is nothing wrong with it!!! :)
