Should your child be forced to stop breastfeeding at 1 yr?

I don't think you should stop cold turkey, it's not healthy for either mom or baby. however, it shouldn't be all the babys pace, the mom is a person too! if the mom is ready to stop and the baby is not it should still be taken into consideration. and if the mom sees fit to regain her body then she should because feeling like a drinking fountian will not promote bonding. just take away one session at a time and replace with a bottle or cup. after one year theres no continued nutritional need for milk anyway. as long as the child is getting enough protien and calcium from other sources. and don't forget to talk to your doctor if your really unsure!
