Great job, for going healthy. The thing is, you really don't need everything you eat to be Low fat or Carb. our bodies need that stuff to function. Your best bet is to watch your portions. The secret to weight loss, is to eat fewer calories than you burn (through exercise, and metabolism). It is not going to hurt your daughter any, to switch to healthier foods and for you to watch the amount you eat at a time. Also, try eating smaller meals more often. If you eat 6 small meals, then you are keeping your blood sugars steadier which in return increase you metabolism (our body's own way of burning calories). I'm sure your daughter will love the extra snacks too. I would not go for the diet systems that send you food in the mail. Yes, they may help you lose weight, but in the long run, you really don't learn anything, and most people tend to put the weight back on once they switch back to regular food.
