my son is 9 months old, his whole life he has been on the playtex bottles with the linners so he never holds the bottle or tips it, he just suck hard enough that he don't have to hold it, but i wanna teach him how to sip out of a sippie cup for his age, but he doesn't understand how to tip it, is there any tips on how i could show him, beause he doesn't even seem to want to try and learn to use one. and i even tried normal bottles that you need to tip.

This worked for me maybe it will work for you too.. Buy a sippie just like his, when you give him a sippie of juice or milk make one for yourself, then give it to him. When he starts looking at tell him look hunny mommy's going to try it to. Then you do jus what you want him to do.. hold it and tip it up to get the fluid out. trust me its going to sound funny but it worked... hopefully it works for you too.

I agree with Renae that if let him hold it and tip it with him that he'll get the idea. My son was breast fed and refused every bottle that I gave him. Out of frustration, I gave him a sippy at 4 1/2 months and he took to it right away. By five months he was holding it and tipping it on his own. He just needs to make the connection.

This will only come with practise. 9mo is still very young to use a sippy cup, they dont understand the concept of tipping it up to make the liquid poor out, until he is old enough to understand (about 12mo) it can only be learned by repetition (you repeatedly tipping it up for him). Tip it for him, use it a few times a day and give him a couple of months to figure it out.
