My daughter is 13 months old, and is still on the bottle. I've tried giving her a sippy cup, both Hard tip, and silicone tip, but all she does is chew on it, she hasn't gotten the concept that you need to suck through it like a bottle nipple. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, could you give me a few tips. Thanks a lot (:

My son chewed on the sippy cups at first too. I had to just keep offering it to him. I even showed him how to drink from it. What worked well for us is using the Avent brand of bottles. You can attach handles to them and they come with sippy cup nipples. So the transition from his bottle nipple to the sippy cup nipple was easier when he recognized his bottle!

some kids skip the sippy cups and go right from bottle to cup at a young age, some are still on the bottle at age 2 or beyond. each kid is different and if nothing is working right now, maybe hold off another month or two and try again. you are good not to want to wait too long though, good luck!

we just got our 2 off the bottle a month ago and our pediatriation just said the tough love approach was the only way to go.... I hated it at night her screaming and wanting the buba and all that but please all i have to say is dont wait as long as we did the fight is not worth it at all...Just take the bottle away is all i can suggest and our daughter before that day we took them away didnt even drink through the sippy cups at all but when they have no other options they well take it :)
I hope this was kinda helpful for you

I've done the sippy cup, and I've even tried regular straws. She just chews on both.I just have no idea what to do. I guess I'll just keep trying different things, maybe the sports bottle will work. I'll try it. Thanks!!

I took the spill proof part out and let it drip in he mouth. It took a while but she finally got it. (a couple of days) Once she got the hang of it though I yanked the bottle completely and put the spill proof part back in.

my son wouldnt take to a sippy cup so I skipped it and went for a straw cup. He loved it and forgot all about his bottles. Maybe try that. Or try getting a regular one not a non drip one and see how she is with that.

I removed the stopper for a bit until my daughter realized that something came out of it. I then replaced it. You might also want to try just a regular cup or a sports bottle.

my son cant drink out of sippy cup yet, when he tips it up it goes everywhere and doesnt quite get that you have to close your mouth when you have a mouthful!!!!! two days ago i gave him a drink of my water bottle (mount franklin) i held it, and he drank out of it just fine i was so amazed but still cant work out the sippy cup, im off today to buy a kids drink bottle that i see in the shelves all the time i think they have straws aswell, i think he might do better with that than a sippy cup..........
