sleep deprevation

I am a stay at home mom who is raising my daughter alone while my husband is deployed in Afghanistan. My daughter is almost 6 mths old and she fights sleep all the time. Some days she is such an easy baby: falls asleep easily both for naps and bedtime. Recently she has been giving me a run around. She refuses to sleep at all costs. She will scream, cry, kick and is extremely hyper. I put her to bed around 9 every night. She has a warm bath and full belly. I have the same routine every day. I let her cry a few minutes before I check on her. She doesnt fall asleep until 11 pm and wakes up at 8 am. I am begging for a good night sleep for the both of us. Help me!

Here are some things that I have tried:

Sometimes I have to let my son play until he is tired.

Another problem I had when he was little is that I was putting him to bed too late. I changed his schedule from 10pm ed time to a 7:30 bed time and he actually sleeps longer. Sometimes he may go to bed at 8:30.

Another thing that I have tried is reading a book or two, just small Dr. Suess or Pooh Bear books.

When he was real little I would give him a baby massage with lavender lotion.

Also, she may be ready to be comforted for a little with a book or song and then laid in her bed before she falls asleep so she can put herself to sleep.

Sometimes my husband will sing to my son while I rock him. If you can maybe get your husband to record his voice singing her a song or reading her a book. Sometimes it helps for just someone else to "lull her to sleep", although he cant be there physically she will hear his voice.
