Sleeping schedule for 3 1/2 months baby

So, my baby is 3 1/2 months and he sleeps from 11 PM to 7 AM, he eats, stays awake for 1 hour and then sleeps till 11 PM - I am happy with this schedule although I have a friend who has a baby 6 months older and she keeps on yelling at me saying that at this age (3 1/2 months) my baby should be already be in bed by 7 PM and sleep 12 hours straight till 7 AM.
Apparently that's what her son used to do, she read the book 12 hours by 12 weeks and followed the book, she also gave it to me but I feel the system used is a little "mean" ... it's all about cutting off feeding slowly giving less and less for the time to cut off ... in my case I believe I should cut of the 7 AM feeding as that supposedly is my LO "mid of the night" feeding as after that he goes right back to sleep. I wish he went to sleep a little earlier at night but I tried different things and nothing works, he always ends up falling asleep at 11 PM. I am only afraid he will get used to this "odd" schedule of sleeping from 11 PM to 11 AM ... and it's gonna be hard for him to wake up early later on in life, to go to school for example.
My other friend says every baby is different and my baby is still young.
What should I do?!

First of all stop listening to your friend every baby is different, and cutting off feeding? Sounds like you are doing everything right. It's important to consult your pediatrician for concerns like sleeping. Babies go through growth spurts their body is their thermostat, feed them when they are hungry and let them sleep as they wish. Don't worry too much about sleep patterns this early in the game, this is the time to spoil them. They have lots of growing to do, think about how much they grow in a small amount of time, they need their sleep. Don't worry too much about being stuck at this sleep pattern, every baby is different, however some babies change. Be sure to bring this up to you pediatrician if you feel concerned. Best of luck

Hey, at that age if your son will sleep 8 hours straight, I wouldn't be complaining at all! At that point, it's more about getting them to sleep, as opposed to WHEN or WHERE they sleep (in my opinion). My second and third babies slept in swings until they were about 4 months old, because it was the only place where they would actually SLEEP. As he gets older, try again to put him to bed earlier, instead of getting him to sleep later in the morning. Just keep trying it until he gets it. Eventually, he will probably sleep closer to 10-12 hours at night. Some kids don't need as much sleep as others, though.
