so you ever shop for yourself anymore?

How many of you moms do this too. I go shopping with intentions of buying myself some new clothes which I really need but for some reason I'm sucked right into the kids departemnt and end up leaving with a bag of stuff for the kids and almost nothing for myself. My wardrobe is looking pretty pathetic these days and my husband's is even worse but at least the kids look good right.

I've gotten more selective about what I buy for myself and clearance racks are my best friends. I also go with cash in hand for the kids and when the money is gone, there is no more. For myself, I can use the debit or credit card. I do not feel obligated to buy the latest trends either. You can blow a fortune trying to look like the pages of the magazines and still look pathetic. In reality, only the models get to look like that and we real worlders should use that as inspiration for our own look. I know what I like, what's comfortable, what looks good on me and that's what I buy.

I've never felt guilty about shopping for myself, but right after I had my son and up until I recently dropped another 20lbs, I never WANTED to shop for myself, so I would always shop for him. I felt awful about my body so shopping for myself wasn't enjoyable. Now that I've lost some weight (though I still have about 10 more to go) when I go shopping, I buy myself something and don't pick up anything for the kiddo. Mainly, because he has so much, I can't squeeze anything else in his closet! Don't feel guilty about wanting to look nice! You don't want to be the frumpy mom in sweats while the kids look pristine and well put together! At least I don't! :)

Guilty of dropping a couple hundred on her when I am the one who could really use some new clothes. It's just easier to shop for her than me and if I spend a dollar on myself I feel guilty. I know I shouldn't but I do.
