Son with Torticollis

My 8 week old son was diagnosed with Torticollis. I have seen 2 different doctors and both have told me to just give him more tummy time, and they really don't seem to concerned, but from what I have read PT is needed to treat torticollis. Has anyone ever had a child with this and what was the outcome with or without PT. Thanks.

My oldest had it. We took him to a physo specialist and she had zero worries and said it would correct itself. This was when he was about 6 months. He is now almost 3yrs and hasn't have an issues. There are exercises you can find online to do with him but what we did was sit him one direction and we would sit on the opposite side he always looked which forced him to use the other side of the muscles. He is only 8 weeks old so i honestly wouldn't be worried this early on. The muscles are still growing and he's still learning how to lift his head properly. The Dr's are right about the tummy time. Put him down and go on the other side, like we did with the sitting and he'll earn to look the other way.
Have no fears mom, i'm sure it will work itself out:)
Congrats on the baby boy!!

yes, i have 7 and 1 on the way...My son is now 3 yrs old Dec. 14,10. When he was born, i noticed on side of his face always seemed to stand out more and looked bigger, everyone told me i was crazy and i was seeing things. Dr. said its just the preference...he chooses to look that way, my friend and kids called me crazy, and also my friend would tell me that he prefers to lay that way...One day i pick him straight up to see, to prove im not crazy...If you look straight forward, you facing straight forward, well his straight forward was to his left...Poor thing everytime i picked him up his head just turned and faced to the left. But nothing was wrong or abnormal...evryone said, i moved to St Paul, MN when he was 3 months old and took him to the Dr. here and she asked me if I had any concerns, buy now my sons head was deformed and flat on the back left side...i showed her and she said oh, its called torticollis...had never heard of it, never dealt w/ it and was just like wow....i knew i wasnt crazy...but he did like a yr og helped alot and made muscles stronger and work how they should, he had to wear a helmet to help shape his head, he hated it, but it helped....try another Dr, or request PT for him
