My son is 11 years old and he is in 5 th grade, I was told by his teacher that he stares off in class a lot and asked if I noticed and of coarse I didn't so I started paying close attention and I do notice that he does it quit a bit. I took him to the doctor cause he has headaches as well and he wants me to log his headaches for a month. I m very concerned and I m worry my self sick!

Absent minded day dreaming can be one of the forms of ADHD, like Winnie the Pooh. There are 6 types of ADHD.

Best treatment is fish oil capsules (Omega 3's) and getting off gluten and starchy foods. Also, no more excitotoxins (hydrogenated fats, additives, preservatives, msg, yeast extracts, colorings, flavorings, etc.) These things excite brain cells to death. Also, foods with processed sugars, salts and fats are a big problem. All these foods cause all kinds of neurological disorders including headaches.

The child needs lean proteins, healthy fats and plenty of fruits and vegetables (raw as much as possible). Very limited intake of pop, sugary juices etc. A really great diet for solving ADHD is the Paleo Diet and there are tons of websites with Paleo recipes, including lots of much healthier desserts.

BTW: I am a certified health coach. Over 80% of cases of ADHD are actually misdiagnosed cases of NDD, which is Nutrition Deficit Disorder (Dr. Bill Sears). The same is true of most neurological conditions. Get the books called Grain Brain and Brain Maker by Dr. David Perlmutter for more info.

Good luck!
