Starting solids! Help!

I'm a first time mommy. I've gotten my daughter on some solids, but I'm curious what are the absolute no no's for babies. What are the best things for her ?

I was always told to avoid milk, egg whites, peanut butter or other nuts and honey. Most of the pediatricians I went to said to start with rice cereal that is pretty watery because it is really easy to digest and to add one different food about every week or two, then you have time to see if they have a problem with it. They used to tell me to start solids when they were wanting to eat too frequently. Now the rule is to wait until 6 months so that they don't have problems. Good Luck! Babies are quite the adventure :)

Congrats momma! This is a big step but as long as u follow the baby food step guides ur on a pretty good track. With my first i fed her nothing but store bought baby food and with my second I just made the same stuff at home. If u want more info on making it at home it is cheaper and better for baby if u have the time and storage space, let me know. Also babies shouldn't have peanut butter or any nut in any for til at least 1 yo, but ask ur doc about it as if you or someone in ur family has nut allergies it could be more likely for ur child, shouldn't have popcorn, honey, or hot dogs until about the same age. Good Luck and like i said if u need more info please feel free to contact me.
