What did you when you were pregnant?
Why not put the baby in the sling and continue on with what you enjoy? We'd take long walks from 4 days on. By 21 months he'd hike 2 miles, no problem and did not want to be carried as he was carried nearly always until he crawled. It is good to get used to their weight day by day so baby never gets too heavy and you get strong! (Build those bones and muscles too!)

Wow, I wish I had that kind of a time, I have a 3 year old and a 7 month old and wow my day is busy. There are so many things I want to do, like take some online courses for fun, and read some books on different subjects, or even do a nice hair do, (straighten my hair)...go out, library, gym, meet with friends, keep my home extra extra tidy. But I could only do so much of it cause with 2 kids it is crazy busy time. Enjoy this time with your little one and doing lots of other activities for yourself, you will miss this freedom one day.

I hear you, you can only clean and do laundry for so long! I joined a book club on Yahoo, and like many others started venturing out to parks and walks!

Its never to soon to take your little one or for walks the Dr's encourage taking baby out and getting fresh air and sun its good for skin if baby was born a little jaundice and it is good for mommy to get it cause being inside to much and not active is what cause ppd so get as much fresh air as possible if your nursing don't forget your nursing cover just incase you take a long walk and baby gets hungry for some

You could go now for walks. I took my son to a small store when he was about a week old just so that I could get out of the house. Other suggestions would be to make some extra meals and put them in the freezer so that you have some one hand in case you get busy. You could also look online in meetup.com and see if there are any groups in your area that you would like to join.

Take baby for walks, workout videos while he's napping, try new recipes, SLEEP and enjoy the quiet while it lasts! Congrats on your new bundle!

You can take your baby out for walks as soon as they are released from the hospital to go home with you. Just make sure you have the baby dressed appropriately for the weather, and bring a spare blanket just in case it gets chilly.

That said, enjoy the peace, it doesn't last forever :)

I would tell you as a mommy with a 10 month old...enjoy the quiet as once they get a little older they are much more active and awake. Work on projects if you have any small ones in the house to keep you entertained...fill out the baby book you received or buy one :) go for walks, I had a c-section and walking really helped me and got me out of the house....the babies love the fresh air. congratulations on your new baby
