Staying home, but not by choice!

[deleted account] ( 5 moms have responded )

I am a stay at home mom due to being disabled. So not my choice to stay home all day. I can't move to well. My left leg isn't working correctly. I hope that my doctors and I can figure something out soon. Can't wait to meet many of you soon!

Join the club! I have what is probably fibromyalgia, as well as migraines and dyspraxia and chronic pain. I have a 12-year-old daughter with ADD and oppositional defiance, also a very active boy aged 2. I worked for about 6 months when my daughter was five or six and ended up so sick I almost died, so don't let anyone give you a hard time about not working! If a cure was discovered tomorrow, of course I would work but right now, I would just have to take too much time off sick. Good to know I am not the only mum in this situation. Grace to you and peace.

I am a SAHM due to disability as well... I am in a power chair with multiple issues (as well as fibro.) I only have one... a 7 yr old boy.

Hello! Welcome to being a SAHM! One of my best friends from high school is a SAHM for medical reasons also and isnt always sure she wants to be. Dont look at this as a bad thing. YOu have come to the career that never ends but will change your childrens future forever! You can mold your children and yourself by using this experience to the good. I hope in the coming months, and yrs you find this to be a very fullfilling career. Good luck!

Hey I feel you there I have fibromyalgia.. And besides dealing with pain daycare is way too expensive for 3 kids... All mine are in school but after school care & summer care & all that isn't worth it so I really have no choice either... you just have to make the best of it :)
