Sticking fingers and puking!

My little champ is nearly 7 months old and I am starting to see how he sticks his finger so far back in his mouth that he pukes. He is one active boy and we do so much together. Sometimes, he likes to be left alone to do independent play but he goes on his puking spree. It is most disturbing when he had just eaten a whole load of food and formula. All this gunk gets on his floor blanket, his clothes, his body, and his toys!! Know that this is a very normal thing for babies this early, to be discovering things, but is there any way to prevent the sticking and puking? I wish I could entertain him every second but that is just not possible.

The little guy I baby sit does the same thing, and still does it and he's almost 2 now. But now he does it when he doesn't get what he wants or for attention. Sometimes he'll make himself cry enough that he'll make himself puke so his mom will pay attention to him. The only thing his parents and I could do was just keep an eye on him and pull his hand out of his mouth and tell him sternly NO!. Other than that like Samantha said just try and keep his hands busy and hopefully he'll grow out of it.

Give him something that could keep his hands busy... Otherwise, when you notice this, pull his hands away. I don't really know what else you could try for such a young age.
